Open Access Fees

RBMS is an Open Access journal where published papers are immediately and permanently free for everyone to read, download, copy and distribute. As such it has no subscription charges and an open access fee is normally payable by the author or research funder to cover the costs associated with publication. We encourage authors and editors not to be deterred by these charges if their university does not provide support, and/or if they have no funding body that will meet these costs. It is RBMS policy to attempt to publish all articles that have successfully passed peer review, and in cases where an author can prove in writing that they are unable to raise funds from their university and/or any funding body, permission may be given on a case-by-case basis to reduce or waive publication fees.

In some cases the editors can assist authors in raising fees, and all potential contributors are encouraged to discuss their submissions with the journal staff in cases where publication charges may appear to pose an obstacle to submission.
